THE YOKE

Maybe you’re thinking what is yoke? Why is it called Yoke? What’s the whole idea behind it? Well, I’m fully ready to tell you!! Just hang on.

In general, the word “yoke” has many different meanings and connotations. According to New Webster’s Dictionary:

Yoke… is the waist or shoulder piece garment supporting the rest

Yoke… is the gear connecting draught animals by passing across their necks

Yoke… is also the essential part that holds something together

See “yoke” has various interesting and useful implications. This particular word is even mentioned in the Bible when Jesus said “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
